SolaRayEffect.com is a free education site for home crypto miners. You don’t need an account to use it, and we never ask for your name, email address, or payment information on the site. This page explains the few things that do happen when you visit.

Visitor analytics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: which pages people visit, roughly where visitors come from, what kind of device and browser they use, and actions like running the mining calculator or clicking an eBay link. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technology to do this. We use these numbers to decide what to improve and which guides to write next.

Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram)

We use the Meta Pixel, a tool from Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram. It tells Meta when someone visits a page on this site. We use it to see whether our Facebook and Instagram posts and ads actually bring people here, and we may use it to show our posts to people who have already visited. Meta may use cookies and connect the visit to a Facebook or Instagram account you’re signed in to.

You can change how Meta uses this information in your Facebook ad preferences. Meta’s own Privacy Policy explains what it does with the data.

Settings saved in your own browser

Some tools remember things in your browser’s local storage so they load faster and you don’t have to retype them. This stays on your device; we don’t receive it:

ZIP codes and weather lookups

When you enter a ZIP code on the Solar Forecast or Night Sky pages, your browser sends it to OpenStreetMap to find the matching location, then sends that location to Open-Meteo for the weather forecast. On the Night Sky page, the location is also sent to our own server to look up sky conditions. We use it only to answer that request and don’t store it.

Many product links on this site are affiliate links to eBay, and in the future Amazon. When you click one, you leave our site, and that store may use its own cookies to track the purchase so we can earn a small commission. It never costs you anything extra. What happens on those sites is covered by their own privacy policies.

Children

This site is written for adults and is not directed at children under 13.
